Tomorrow, we get back to it

Hi Reader,

Tomorrow, we get back to it. We go from a relaxed summer with lots of sleeping in to carpool, curriculum, three different sports, and all the buzz, logistics, and chaos that comes with fall. (I know, I know — we start back late. It's wonderful.)

New routine, new rhythms, new everything, whether we're ready or not.

Right now, in this pocket right before it happens, everything feels possible. I haven't snapped at anyone over a lost water bottle yet. I haven't missed a permission slip or been late for carpool. In my head, this next season is still the calm, connected, intentional one I mean to build — untested, undefeated.

Of course, it won't stay this smooth. It never does. Somewhere in the first week — maybe even tomorrow morning — the real version will show up, messier, more reactive, more human than the one I'm picturing right now.

But today, I'm letting myself sit with the version where it's still possible. This quiet, before-it-starts feeling doesn't last long, and I don't want to rush past it either.

Most of you have probably already started the fall grind, but wherever you are in this, I hope you find a minute in the quiet, at least for today.

Yours in hope for the new season,
Jess

P.S. — If you want more than a hope and a calendar for the season ahead, Rhythm & Flow is the system I use to plan our rhythm — not rigid, just enough shape to follow through on. $9.
